Explore Meditation Through Asana & Pranayama

During this 2 hour workshop we will explore the deeper meditative yogic exercises through the practice of asana (movement), pranayama (breath work) and Savasana (relaxation). 

During each posture (asana) the muscles are contracting through twisting, forward and backward bending, balancing and other various movements which allows for a smoother blood flow throughout the body. 

Due to the low intensity of the yogic exercises low amounts of lactic acid are produced compared to other high impact exercise. 

Whilst the whole body is being stretched and relaxed, blood flows equally and freely throughout the muscles and ligaments with oxygen rich blood supplying the body with fresh new energy. As the body relaxes after holding a steady asana with full concentration the brand new energy fills the muscle fibres allowing a more mobile and energetic body. 

Apart from deepening your practice through asanas we will also learn/practice 2 pranayama exercises. The mind is naturally unsteady and is constantly being affected by external objects such as sight, sound and smell…These basic pranayama exercises help the mind to focus and become one pointed ultimately bringing about relaxation to both the physical body and mind.
