Backbends are invigorating, uplifting and heart-opening. They stimulate the proper functioning of the digestive system, help preserve the health of the spine and disks, counteract rounded shoulders, improve posture, boost your mood, relieve stress and open the body for deep breathing.
When practicing backbends in yoga is is important that it is done slowly and with intention so to avoid injury.
In this workshop we will explore different types of backbends, how to warm up the body in order to achieve the back bend safely using props where necessary.
