Join our lovely Jo Kemp and Authorised level 2 teacher Mary Powell for an Ashtanga day
Mysore class first thing followed by a jump through/jump back workshop with Mary.
Jump backs, jump throughs and the other transitions in the Ashtanga primary series builds both physical and mental strength. We'll learn how to strengthen the internal core (bandhas) and how to use it in connection with the upper torso and breath to make the body work as a strong unit (the floating technique). We'll also take a look at how to transfer these skills off the mat in our everyday life.
Creating strength and lightness in the body helps to make a yoga practice smoother and can help bring stability to the core and shoulders. It's also fun!
Both sessions are suitable for beginners and advanced practitioners alike. Whether you're new to Ashtanga or want to build on your existing practice this day will be right for you.
There will be a break between the sessions to have a snack and drink to recharge for the workshop. You can also attend both or just one of the sessions. Mysore starts at 9am.
