Why do teachers assist? What is the purpose?
Assisting students is not about correction or perfection. It is a loving act that brings students safely into postures and ultimately deepens their practice.

Explore a variety of hands on assisting techniques and discover new ways to facilitate healthy alignment.

• Work with partners to explore a variety of assists and modifications for common miss alignments

• Explore how the power of touch can transform your teaching

• Learn more about your own body and practice while giving and receiving adjustments

• Develop your awareness to skilfully enter the sacred space of your students

• Gain a deeper understand of how postures work, how to create space and strength in the body and release the healing flow of Prana.

This workshop will spread over two days covering standing postures on the first day and seated postures on the second day.

You can attend Day 1, or both days. (please note to do Day 2 you have to have attended Day 1)

Prepare for your workshop

Wear comfortable clothing that you find it easy to move in.  We have Mats at the studio so no need to bring one with you unless you prefer to use your own.  Yoga is usually practiced in bare feel but if you prefer to wear socks, the non slip kind are the best to use.  Please arrive at least 10 mins before the workshop to allow time to check in and familiarise yourself with the surroundings and staff.pudiare.


Who's jo?

Jo believes her real teacher training has been stepping onto her mat six days a week for the past 10+ years. During this time she has travelled to Mysore, India to practice under R.Sharath Jois and Saraswathi Jois to learn at the source of modern Ashtanga yoga. Jo believes in the Indian tradition of Parampara - knowledge that is passed in succession from teacher to student through generations.

Cancelling a workshop/event/course within 5 days or failing to attend a booked workshop/event/course is non-refundable. You may pass a booking onto a friend at no extra cost, however we must be notified of the change by email if a friend will attend in your place.
